On Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. the Chicago Digital Access Alliance Inc. (C.D.A.A.) will present its 2nd Digital Excellence Conference and Tech Fair at the University of Chicago Logan Center For The Arts 9th Floor Performance Penthouse, 915 East 60th Street.
The Conference will include as many as 12 informative workshops, a keynote luncheon on neighborhood technology and community development and awards to Digital Excellence Pioneers and Friends of the CDAA. The afternoon roundtable discussion will focus on the newly-proposed Southside Fiber-Optic Broadband Network and broadband expansion throughout the city of Chicago and the State of Illinois.
This year's Digital Excellence Pioneer Awardees are: Don York, University of Chicago; Governor Pat Quinn, State of Illinois and Thom Clark, President, Community Media Workshop.
Friends of the C.D.A.A. Awardees include: Patty Fisher, Knowledge Hookup; Bruce Montgomery, Technology Access Television; Sherye Garmony Miller, AKARAMA Foundation; Gerry Gleason, C.D.A.A. Board Member; Shaz Rasul, U. of C. Neighborhood Schools Program; Charles Benton, Benton Foundation/Partnership For A Connected Illinois; Ryan Priester, Network Of Woodlawn; Mattie Butler, Woodlawn East Community and Neighbors; Leroy Kennedy, Illinois Institute of Technology; and Harold Lucas, Black Metropolis Technology Commission
The conference fee is $59.00, but attendance is limited to 125 participants. Scholarships are available, and you can pre-register at registernow@digitalexcellence.net.
